ThunderMax is a complete replacement ECM for EFI Harleys with wide-band AutoTune built in. Swap it for the factory ECM, fit the two wide-band O2 sensors, load the base map for your combination and ride. The ECM reads the air/fuel ratio and corrects fueling at every 1.5° of throttle and every 256 RPM, writes the changes when you key off, and keeps adjusting as the bike changes. Gen 3 WaveTune tunes over three times faster than the previous generation. Built-in barometric compensation handles altitude and weather, knock correction adjusts timing on the fly, and the factory functions (ride modes, Wi-Fi, navigation and traction control where fitted) keep working.
Run it on a base map and let AutoTune do the rest, or open the free ThunderMax software on a Windows laptop to adjust AFR, timing, start-up fuel, idle, rev limit and speedometer calibration, and to log and read engine data. Works with big cams, turbo, nitrous and supercharger builds. Designed, built and supported in the USA.

What's in the box

The ThunderMax tuning software is a free download from ThunderMax and runs on a Windows laptop.
Good to know
O2 bungs: ThunderMax uses 18 mm oxygen sensors. Nearly every aftermarket exhaust has 18 mm ports; a factory exhaust has 12 mm ports, so 18 mm bungs need to be welded in (bungs are not included).
Right part for the bike: 309-591 does not fit 2023.5 and newer center-cooled Touring motors (use 309-605), and 309-605 does not fit 2021-up Road King, 2021-2024 Ultra or 2021-2025 Trikes (use 309-591). Not sure which motor you have? Message Max or email us before ordering.
Emissions: Standard ThunderMax ECMs are sold for race-ready, closed-course use and are not for use on vehicles subject to emission control requirements. In California they may not be used on a street-registered vehicle. The ThunderMax 50 units listed above carry a California ARB Executive Order and are street approved.
